π About the Student Volunteer Program
Each year, TxHIMA selects a limited number of student volunteers to assist in the operations of the Annual Conference. Volunteers play a vital role in making WONDER a success β from welcoming attendees at registration to supporting speakers and exhibitors throughout the event.
This is more than a volunteer opportunity. It’s an invitation to experience the professional world of health information management up close, build relationships with leaders in the field, and represent the next generation of HIM professionals in Texas.
β οΈ Limited Spots Available: Not all applicants will be selected. TxHIMA will review all submissions and notify accepted volunteers ahead of the conference. We encourage you to apply early and submit a complete application.

π οΈ Volunteer Responsibilities
Selected student volunteers may be assigned to one or more of the following areas based on availability and conference needs:
- Pre-Conference Setup β packet assembly and registration preparation
- Attendee Registration & Sponsor/Exhibitor Check-In
- Session Room Monitoring & Exhibit Hall Support
- Hospitality & Session Break Assistance
- Silent Auction Support
- General Event Support as Needed
Volunteers should expect to be available and on-site for the full duration of the conference, June 10β12, 2026.
π¬ What to Expect
The Student Volunteer Coordinator will notify accepted volunteers and distribute a schedule of duties and assignments prior to the conference.
Approximately one week before the conference, accepted volunteers will receive a full information packet including:
