Jackie Moczygemba is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Informatics and Information Management at Texas State University.  She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in HIIM.  Prior to teaching, Ms. Moczygemba spent 12 years as a director of HIM services in an acute care hospital. She also has several years of experience in HIM consulting in long-term healthcare. She received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Records Administration and Master of Business Administration from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). Ms. Moczygemba holds certification as a registered health information administrator (RHIA) and coding specialist (CCS). She was named a Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association in 2012.  Ms. Moczygemba is a member of the peer review panel for Advances in Health Information Science and Practice and the AHIMA Fellowship Committee.  Her research areas include health data quality, electronic health records, and usability factors associated with health information technology.
